2007 Walking Festival
Kicks Off In Style!

The soggy weather this weekend didn't dampen the spirits of the thousands of people who joined in the launch of the 5th Lewisham Walking Festival on Saturday. Pictured below our many partners and volunteers stepping out in style (there are too many to fit in one picture this year!) plus the valiant Green Police, who would 'give 5' to anyone who could reach them!

The Festival continues until Sunday 27th May, with an amazing and varied selection of mostly free walking events still to come, including:

  • 19 May: Green Chain Walk from Grove Park to Eltham, Waterlink Way Walk from Sydenham to Greenwich
  • 19 May: Capital to Coast Railway Walk 1 from Charing Cross to Hither Green, Nordic Walking in Beckenham Place Park
  • 20 May: Eltham to Beckenham Place Park Ramble, Deptford Creek Low Tide Walk in the Creek
  • 20 May: Chinbrook Meadows Family Stroll and Pond Dipping, Kent House Leisure Gardens Open Day
  • 21 May: Thames Path and Marinas Walk, Pubs and Parks Walk in Sydenham
  • 22 May: WISE Walk at Beckenham Place Park, Ladywell History Walk
  • 23 May: Forster Memorial Park Walk, Grove Park Dusk Family Stroll
  • 24 May: Devonshire Rd Nature Reserve, Telegraph Hill Trail, Isle of Dogs Silent Soundwalk
  • 25 May: St. John's Interest Walk, Hither Green Lane History Walk
  • 26 May: Chislehurst to Beckenham Place Park Ramble, Railway Walk 2 from Charing Cross to Hither Green
  • 27 May: Lee Manor History Walk, Five Parks Festival Finale Walk from Ladywell to Manor House Gardens, Catford - Forest Hill Finale Pub Walk
