/B<2.>Weekend of Walking Activities

Date proposed 17/18 May which is the weekend prior to 'Safer Routes to School' week.

Discussion around publicity.

Different organisations that could run walks were suggested eg GC Walk, Ramblers( Blackheath and Inner London ) Creekside Ecology Centre, Downham Woodland Walk - Janet suggested an Art activity with children, Ruth suggested a Botanical Walk, Deptford Tour Guides, Lewisham Healthy Walks. It was recommended that they view the weekend as an opportunity to promote their own organisation.

There should be grading system of walks

Small planning group to meet -Kerry, Conrad, Paul, Aidan, Marion, Jenny

/B<3.>Living Streets

David Early, Branch Development Officer presented information about LWF becoming a local branch of Living Streets. Principally that it would be a local group that can draw upon the expertise of Living Streets. It could be the campaigning arm of LWF. (More info about the benefits listed in the minutes of Dec meeting)

Need 3 people that are members of Living Streets who are willing to stand as officers of the local branch.

Constitution of a local branch of Living Streets to be distributed before the next meeting.

David posed the question "What do you want to achieve - How can we help you?"

Further discussion and, hopefully, a decision to be made at the next meeting.

4.Jenny stated that it is important that the group decide a structure for the group and agree some responsibilities as having initiated the LWF she is not able to continue with the same level of input which now needs to be shared.

Date of next meeting: Wednesday, 5 March 2003. Room 5 Civic Suite
