Walking Festival Meeting
Creekside Centre 30 March 2004, 7pm

Minutes and Matters
Arising Walk Risk Assessments distributed.
Risk Assessments advice note distributed.
Draft Risk Assessments form agreed. Sue Webber to add to website.

Last Sat of May - Town Centre Event (to be organised by Liz Bannister) Emphasis on 'everyday' walking. Includes two Performances of "What If It Rains?" play. Street Wardens involved

12 Byways leaflets will be organised by Age Exchange - Tony McTurk.

Laura will ask John Coulter if he can collect all walk descriptions/maps/plans during the festival. These will be compiled or put on the www, post-festival.

Peter S - Will invite Colin Saunders to do Capital Ring walk - speak to Sue or Jenny

Who Has the Most Outrageous Shoes?
Branded Festival Socks? CY to investigate.

These minutes confirm that all walk organisers who've already submitted walk forms, but which do not have their own insurance cover, will be covered under Lewisham Environment Trust insurance, as LWF is now a LET affiliated organisation

10,000 programmes to be distributed

Lewisham In Bloom - highlights map to be available during the festival. CY to investigate

Ron + Doug - Hither Green Lane walk

Jenny B has put in a funding proposal to TfL. Which they will 'look on favourably'.

Walking Plan for London was launched in Feb. LWFmentioned as a case study.

Ian Plowright - Surface Transport Officer - keen to meet the Walking Forum.

Peter S - interested in future developments that meet needs of walk cycle and bus passengers simultaneously.

CY passed local project funding details, provided by Nick Pond, to the group

Next Meeting - Tues 27th April Lewisham Town Hall, Cttee Rm 2. Please come to this meeting to pick up copies of the programmes, flyers and posters, for distribution.
